froyotech is an ESEA-I team founded in ESEA Season 16, and is considered one of the best teams of all time. It had consisted of the core of the HRG team from Seasons S13 and S14 as well as iT from S15. After their victory at i52, they were widely regarded as the best team in the world, especially due to their subsequent victories in ESEA-I Season 17, ESEA-I Season 18 and Season 19. In August 2015, froyotech won the TF2 Tournament at i55 after a Grand Final match against nerdRage.tf2, cementing a second victory in a row at the Insomnia Summer LAN. The team initially disbanded on Nov 24, 2015 due to players' loss of interest in the game as well as a Lower Bracket Final loss to TSU.

froyotech later reformed with members from Strawberry Mangos and later clockwork rejoining the team. This version of the team won Season 21; in their first season as a roster. Due to clockwork and ninjanick's departure for Overwatch, Classic Mixup's TLR and -bird noises-'s phorofor joined the roster in preparation for i58, which would go on to win Season 22. i58 was the first time in froyotech's history that they failed to make the Grand Final at an Insomnia LAN event, finishing in 3rd place behind Full Tilt and Crowns eSports Club. However following some more roster changes, the team managed to win the American Rewind LAN 2017, Rewind LAN 2018 and the Insomnia63 after beating European Team Se7en in the Grand Finals.
froyotech is an ESEA-I team founded in ESEA Season 16, and is considered one of the best teams of all time.

However following some more roster changes, the team managed to win the American Rewind LAN 2017, Rewind LAN 2018 and the Insomnia63 after beating European Team Se7en in the Grand Finals.
froyotech is an ESEA-I team founded in ESEA Season 16, and is considered one of the best teams of all time.

ESEA (E-Sports Entertainment Association) is an e-sports organisation located and hosted in North America and hosts 6s tournaments in Team Fortress 2. ESEA also hosts competitive teams for other games, such as Counter Strike: Source and Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

Format
The ESEA regular season consists of 16 regular season matches, played over 8 maps with one map per week. The top teams from each division participate in double-elimination playoffs to compete for the division's prize pool. Each game in the playoff bracket at ESEA LAN is played as a best-of-3-matches, while playoff games in the other divisions are single-game. Between seasons, teams may be promoted or demoted to another division based on their performance during the season.

Matches are played on a single map, with two halves of 30 minutes. Depending on the game type, the win conditions differ:
* On 5CP maps, the first half is played until the time limit runs out or one team wins 3 rounds; the second half and the match ends once the time limit runs out or one team wins 5 rounds;
* On King of the Hill maps, the first half is played until the time limit runs out or one team wins 3 rounds; the second half and the match ends once the time limit runs out or one team wins 4 rounds;
* On Attack/Defend maps, each half consists of a stopwatch round. The teams alternate between attacking and defending, such as if team A defended first, team B will be the first to defend in the next round. Each team can score one point in a half. The game ends once one of the teams reaches 2 points.
* In Capture the Flag, the times of each half are only 20 minutes long and has no capture limit. The team with the highest amount of captures by the end of the second half wins the round.

Divisions
Within the TF2 league, there are four divisions:
* ESEA-I (Invite)
* ESEA-M (Main) (only during Season 15)
* ESEA-IM (Intermediate)
* ESEA-O (Open)

The Invite division currently hosts the highest level of 6v6 competition in North America. Although ESEA is hosted in North America, players from other continents are allowed to participate in any of the divisions. At the end of each season the top teams from the Invite division participate in a LAN event to compete for the Invite prize pool.

After the ESEA S18 LAN Finals, ESEA announced that they would no longer be hosting LAN Finals for TF2, relegating the post-season to online playoffs.

* On 5CP maps, the first half is played until the time limit runs out or one team wins 3 rounds; the second half and the match ends once the time limit runs out or one team wins 5 rounds;
* On King of the Hill maps, the first half is played until the time limit runs out or one team wins 3 rounds; the second half and the match ends once the time limit runs out or one team wins 4 rounds;

* ESEA-I (Invite)
* ESEA-M (Main) (only during Season 15)
* ESEA-IM (Intermediate)
* ESEA-O (Open)

* On 5CP maps, the first half is played until the time limit runs out or one team wins 3 rounds; the second half and the match ends once the time limit runs out or one team wins 5 rounds;
* On King of the Hill maps, the first half is played until the time limit runs out or one team wins 3 rounds; the second half and the match ends once the time limit runs out or one team wins 4 rounds;

* ESEA-I (Invite)
* ESEA-M (Main) (only during Season 15)
* ESEA-IM (Intermediate)
* ESEA-O (Open)

* On 5CP maps, the first half is played until the time limit runs out or one team wins 3 rounds; the second half and the match ends once the time limit runs out or one team wins 5 rounds;
* On King of the Hill maps, the first half is played until the time limit runs out or one team wins 3 rounds; the second half and the match ends once the time limit runs out or one team wins 4 rounds;

* ESEA-I (Invite)
* ESEA-M (Main) (only during Season 15)
* ESEA-IM (Intermediate)
* ESEA-O (Open)
