Stevepander is a Polish-English [[pyro]] main, currently playing for [[Strong Opinions]] in ETF2L Premiership and UGC Platinum.
He currently studies Undergraduate Mathematics at the University of Nottingham.

==Early TF2==
The [[Highlander]] pyro main started his TF2 career on a Polish community server, Stajnia Ogarów. He has been playing in both [[ETF2L]] and [[UGC]] since some of their earliest HL seasons.
In 2012, Stevepander joined [[Max-Play Highlander Team]], where he went on to play and win in UGC's Platinum Season 8. Max-Play continued on to play ETF2L's Experimental HL Cup #3 where they lost in the final against SNSD's fun team. This landed the team a spot in ETF2L's Prem in season 3, although they were knocked out in relegation matches against [[DAROUTOUTOU]] and [[colony]]. After a disappointing season of straight loses in Div 1, MPHT disbanded and Steve was left team-less.

In the summer of 2013, Stevepander got in contact with Hildreth. After reviewing some demos together and speaking briefly, Hildreth decided Stevepander would be a good potential fit for his new HL project. The team was originally supposed to include [[sad panda]], though that partnership ultimately failed. Stevepander and Hildreth continued to try and complete the roster, which resulted in the creation of Highpander.

Despite having limited experience at the top of highlander, Stevepander quickly made a name for himself.
On Highpander, he's reached playoffs in every season they competed in, and Stevepander himself was a key puzzle piece in achieving this feat.

ETF2L hosts an award show after each season, and for the last 4 seasons in a row he has taken home the Pyro of the Season award.

Stevepander made an appearance at [[DeutschLAN]], playing for [[LANpander]] - himself and [[Hildreth]] coming from the [[Highpander]] roster. The team did well in the group stage, winning 7 games and losing just one, but unfortunately lost out in the playoff match to end up finishing in 3rd place.

After DeutschLAN, Stevepander decided it was time to move from Highpander, and was invited to join [[Strong Opinions]] by [[CeeJaey]]. S-O went on to do well in their Premiership debut season on the back of some strong performances from Steve, and finished in 2nd place in the regular season.

Stevepander is known as one of the most aggressive pyros. He often claims that just being a pocket pyro, focused on protecting the medic and combo, is a flawed play style that doesn't allow for unlocking the pyro's full potential.
Instead, Steve opts to often go for small, short flanking bursts where he tries to engage in fights with his team mates, in order to quickly overwhelm the enemy's flank. Staying with the combo only when it's useful, for example when there's about to be an über exchange, or the team has an über advantage and they're expecting suicide waves.
Stevepander pretty exclusively uses Degreaser, Shotgun and Powerjack as his loadout. This is mostly due to personal preference. The main benefit he will argue in the Secondary Weapon debate, is that Shotgun allows for greater flexibility in medium range fights, while also allowing for a respectable enough amount of short range burst.

Stevepander is a Polish-English [[pyro]] main, currently playing for [[Strong Opinions]] in ETF2L Premiership and UGC Platinum.
He currently studies Undergraduate Mathematics at the University of Nottingham.

==Early TF2==
The [[Highlander]] pyro main started his TF2 career on a Polish community server, Stajnia Ogarów. He has been playing in both [[ETF2L]] and [[UGC]] since some of their earliest HL seasons.
In 2012, Stevepander joined [[Max-Play Highlander Team]], where he went on to play and win in UGC's Platinum Season 8. Max-Play continued on to play ETF2L's Experimental HL Cup #3 where they lost in the final against SNSD's fun team. This landed the team a spot in ETF2L's Prem in season 3, although they were knocked out in relegation matches against [[DAROUTOUTOU]] and [[colony]]. After a disappointing season of straight loses in Div 1, MPHT disbanded and Steve was left team-less.

==Highpander and Awards==
In the summer of 2013, Stevepander got in contact with Hildreth. After reviewing some demos together and speaking briefly, Hildreth decided Stevepander would be a good potential fit for his new HL project. The team was originally supposed to include [[sad panda]], though that partnership ultimately failed. Stevepander and Hildreth continued to try and complete the roster, which resulted in the creation of Highpander.

Despite having limited experience at the top of highlander, Stevepander quickly made a name for himself.
On Highpander, he's reached playoffs in every season they competed in, and Stevepander himself was a key puzzle piece in achieving this feat.

ETF2L hosts an award show after each season, and for the last 4 seasons in a row he has taken home the Pyro of the Season award.

==Playstyle==
Stevepander is known as one of the most aggressive pyros. He often claims that just being a pocket pyro, focused on protecting the medic and combo, is a flawed play style that doesn't allow for unlocking the pyro's full potential.
Instead, Steve opts to often go for small, short flanking bursts where he tries to engage in fights with his team mates, in order to quickly overwhelm the enemy's flank. Staying with the combo only when it's useful, for example when there's about to be an über exchange, or the team has an über advantage and they're expecting suicide waves.
Stevepander pretty exclusively uses Degreaser, Shotgun and Powerjack as his loadout. This is mostly due to personal preference. The main benefit he will argue in the Secondary Weapon debate, is that Shotgun allows for greater flexibility in medium range fights, while also allowing for a respectable enough amount of short range burst.

After MegaKillerZ eSports folded, their Spy [[Toast]] also joined the ranks, resulting in a full roster.

Tourettes Chessclub, commonly referred to ''chess,'' are the current [[ETF2L]] highlander champions and are the only team, other than [[SNSD]], to have won the title more than once.

Although being highly successful, the team is infamous for their ever-changing roster, with the only two players to remain on the roster since the beginning being the founders [[Scissors]] and [[Khazul]].

==Founding of the team==

Much like [[Colony]], the original Tourettes Chessclub roster also consisted primarily of pubbers from the Rocket Blast public servers, with mid-season replacements such as [[Sprayer]] and [[Yoshi]] being recruited from TF2Lobby.

Although hardly similar to the recent Chess roster, this roster for the first Highlander-only TF2 LAN, DeutschLAN, would actually contain more familiar chess-faces than most other variations of the team. The team was named "checkers", and contained current Chessclub members [[Scissors]] and [[Khazul]], as well as former members [[quintosh]], [[Yoshi]], [[BreakfasT_JR]] and [[Deox]]. [[CeeJæy]] & [[Raptor]] from the team [[Strong Opinions]], as well as [[Kylähullu]], would make up the remaining part of the roster, last mentioned as a last-minute replacement for LANdodger [[Nik]]. The team went unbeaten (8-0) in the group stage, winning 26 rounds and dropping only 1, to [[Fair Enough]]. In the Grand Final they came up against Fair Enough again, winning 2 maps to 0 (Lakeside 4-2, Gullywash 5-1) to take home the trophy and prize.

This was how the roster looked for the majority of the season, as [[Scissors]] left the team shortly before the playoffs, [[huhy]] quit TF2 due to availability issues, and former [[ETF2L]] anti-cheat admin [[quintosh]] was banned for the season for having leaked confidential information regarding anti-cheat work. Fair Enough's pyro, [[Lex]], stood in for [[Scissors]] as a merc during the playoffs and finals, [[blub]] replaced huhy on demo, while [[ondkaja]] stepped up from substitute to main soldier in the wake of quintosh' ban. Before the start of the season, [[atomic]], [[uubers]] and long-time chess member [[Sprayer]] were supposed to continue playing their classes from the previous season where the team had taken home their first ETF2L Premiership championship. Due to a highly controversial kicking of Sprayer, however, fellow team mates uubers decided to leave the team, which in turn prompted his long-time friend -atomic to do the same.

The roster used in the playoffs and the finals for this season was slightly different from the one above. Engineer [[b4n4n4man]] and sniper [[tracker]] were highly controversially demoted to substitutes after the main season, according to the team due behavorial and availability issues. For the playoffs and finals, the team moved main demoman [[quintosh]] over to the engineer spot, while newly recruited [[inso]] took over the sniper spot. This roster would eventually go on to bring home the team their first ETF2L Premiership title.

Although ending with a very satisfying result, this particular roster had many issues over the course of the season, and as a result, changed main heavy no less than 4 times. Placed in the High bracket, the team went on to beat Premiership opposition (such as WASP) on the way to victory in the tournament. There were a number of a roster changes after the cup, and during the ensuing season. After the departure of their founder, [[CeeJaey]] took over leadership, and the team decided a change of name and identity was needed.

The team were rebranded as 'Strong Opinions' - an ongoing joke that the team's Soldier, [[Raptor]], had a strong opinion on every topic. S-O would go on to do well in ETF2L Season 8 High, sealing a playoff spot on the last matchday, but unfortunately losing out in the semi-finals to eventual winners MegaKillerZ eSports. This third place result was seen as something to build on for the future.

==Premiership==

Following Season 8, the team needed a new Heavy, after the loss of [[Sad Panda]]. S-O used UGC Platinum Season 16 as an opportunity to trial new players, and they made playoffs - finishing in 4th place overall. However, this saw [[feeling]] grow tired of Scout, and move to backup on the team. The team still had aspirations of playing in the Premiership division for Season 9, but a recruitment drive was required. [[Thalash]] was brought in on Scout, and following DeutschLAN [[Emilio Estevez]] & [[Stevepander]] joined as Heavy and Pyro respectively. After MegaKillerZ eSports folded, their Spy [[Toast]] also joined the ranks, resulting in a full roster.

Strong Opinions applied for Premiership for Season 9, and beat Team Colonslash: Express in the qualifiers to guarantee their place. During the pre-season thoughts were divided on how well S-O would fare in Prem - however they managed to secure their spot in the playoffs with a match to spare.
